WHY WOMEN’S EQUALITY IS IMPORTANT

Gender equality is critical because it will enable women and men to make decisions that impact more positively on their own sexual and reproductive health as well as that of their spouses and families.

GENDER EQUALITY

Gender equality means that women and men should be treated equally or differently. For example, it may imply that women and men should be paid the same for doing the same work or that they should be treated with different medicines and methods in order to make health care equal.

STRUGGLE FOR GENDER JUSTICE

Social, political and economic equality for women is integral to the achievement of all millennium development goals. Humanity dignity is the most supreme attributes of the society. Every human being strives for that dignity to which he or she is entitled to. The constitution of India also provides that every citizen irrespective of their caste/creed/sex/origin should not be deprived of their human dignity. Gender equality is fundamentally related to sustainable development and globally accepted as a necessity for the promotion of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles. Status of women is the foundation for the progress of the society and it is very important for human development. In India even today the birth of a girl child is killed even before she is born. A girl child is more neglected in Indian society. Discrimination goes on unabated whether it is in the field of survival, health, education, employment or in other broader perspective of social life.

Gender justice refers to harmonizing of rights and needs of women into mainstream society. Justice in this sense means more balanced behavior, an end to violence and equal distribution of social necessities.

In spite of having so many enactments dealing with women issues yet the rate of women related crimes are high. The discrimination is still so prevalent which is unfavorable for the social environment. Until the mindset of the society changes it is difficult to regulate.

HOW TO ENSURE GENDER JUSTICE

There are many ways to promote gender equality in daily life some ideas are mentioned below,

1, share household  chores and childcare equally.

2, support mothers and parents.

3, help women gain power.

4, pay the same salary for equal.

5, sexual harassment and racism: zero tolerance.

GENDER JUSTICE FOR TRANSGENDER
the 1980's female to male(FTM) transsexually became  more broadly known. In 1992 Leslie Feinberg printed and circulated a pamphlet titled "Transgender liberation A Movement Whose Time Has Come".
The national center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people.
Transgender girl or women whose sex assigned at birth was male, but who understands herself as female. A transgender boy or man is a boy or man whose sex assigned at birth was female, but who understands himself to be male.
Like men and women, transgender also should be treated in the same way and also, they must get the income what men and women's are receiving.
It is the duty of states regardless of their political, economic and cultural systems to promote and protect all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Transgenders ensures equality, freedom, justice and dignity, of all mandates and inclusive society for all including transgender persons.
WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS OF TRANSGENDERS OR THIRD GENDERS

Mainly health concerns that transgender people face are due to minority stress, which is characterized by: Negative social attitudes and disapproval (social stigma) toward transgender people abuse, harassment, neglect, rejection or unfair treatment (discrimination) of transgender people.
Non recognition of third gender in the Indian legal framework has resulted systematic denial of equal protection of law and wide spread socio-economic discrimination in society at large as well as Indian workplaces.

HOW TRANSGENDER CAN LIVE THEIR LIFE IN A BETTER QUALITY
Transgender persons can lead a better quality of life if they have equal rights, opportunities and effective access to different social development services.
Honorable court held that transgender should be treated as third genders and given access to and representation in education and jobs.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TAKEN BY HONORABLE COURT FOR TRANSGENDER

The honorable court directed to provide medical care to TGs in the hospitals and take steps for framing various social welfare schemes for their betterment.
